NASHUA, NH-- Lasell's men's volleyball team suffered a season ending loss to Emmanuel College Saturday afternoon in the first round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament. The third seeded Lasers fell to the second seeded Saints in four sets; 30-25, 28-30, 30-16, 30-27.
NEWTON, MA-- Sophomore setter Brendan McGourn (Southington, CT) and freshman outside hitter Spencer Parker (Newington,CT) were selected onto the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team All-Conference for the 2010 season. Sophomore right side Micah Aiu (Honolulu, HI) was chosen as a Second Team recipient and junior middle Dan Rogers (Belchertown, MA) was honored on the Third Team.
The four teams with the best regular season conference records will face off tomorrow for the 2010 Great Northeast Men's Volleyball Championship. The #1 seed Rivier Raiders (25-8, 11-1 GNAC) will play the #4 seed Emerson Lions (9-11, 5-7 GNAC) at 11:00 a.m., while the #2 seed Emmanuel Saints (25-7, 11-1 GNAC) will battle the #3 seed Lasell Lasers (17-9, 8-4 GNAC) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 at Rivier. The winners of each contest will face off at 4:00 p.m. to determine the 2010 GNAC Champion. The top two teams will be awarded automatic bids to the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) Tournament, which begins on April 9 at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center on Cape Cod.

CAMBRIDGE, MA- Spencer Parker (Newington, CT) was named to the All-Tournament Team as the Lasers went 2-2 at the Sixth Annual MIT Men's Volleyball Invitational the weekend. Parker had a top performance which included 27 kills, seven digs, and six blocks in the four match weekend.
NASHUA, NH- Lasell College swept the Daniel Webster Eagles, 3-0, in non-conference mens volleyball play on Wednesday night at the Mario Vagge Gymnasium. The Lasers were victorious by scores of 30-18, 30-23, 30-26 in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) regional matchup.

WEST HAVEN, CT The Lasell College men's volleyball team picked up a dramatic five set victory over non-divisional rivals University of New Haven on Friday night, 3-2, at the Charger Gymnasium. Lasell produced wins in the first two sets (30-24, 30-27) before the Chargers rallied to take sets three and four by identical scores of 31-29. Lasell came back to secure the match victory with a tight 15-13 deciding set.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. Sophomore Micah Aiu (Honolulu, HI) drilled home 15 kills, adding seven digs and four blocks for the Lasell College mens volleyball team, en route to a 3-1 decision over Johnson & Wales University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday night. The Lasers now boast a 12-5 record overall and a 7-2 slate in the GNAC.

NEW HAVEN, CT- For the second time this season, the Lasell College mens volleyball team defeated Albertus Magnus College, 3-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The Lasers took down the Falcons in three fast sets; 30-10, 30-9, 30-4.
Newton, MA- The Lasell College Lasers swiftly overtook the Lions of Emerson College, 3-0, on Friday evening at the Lasell Athletic Center, to improve their overall record to 10-5, and their Great Northeast Athletic Conference slate to 5-2. Emersons season record falls to 1-7 after the defeat, and 0-5 in the league.
NEWTON, MA- For the second time this season, the Emmanuel College Saints defeated the Lasell College Lasers in Great Northeast Athletic Conference mens volleyball action. The Saints took a quick two set lead (30-26, 30-26) before the Lasers came back to triumph in the third set, 30-27. A final 30-27 victory by the Saints sealed the 3-1 GNAC match.
