Parker Becomes a Three-Time Honoree of the GNAC Rookie of the Week Award
NEWTON, MA-Freshman outside hitter Spencer Parker (Newington, CT) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's volleyball Rookie of the Week. This is the third time this season that Parker has received this honor from the league.
Parker averaged 3.67 kills per set, .83 blocks per set, and 1.67 digs per set in a 2-0 week for the Lasers. The rookie led all hitters with 17 kills against University of New Haven, while also picking up nine digs and four blocks. Earlier in the week, Parker slammed home five kills in one set against GNAC rivals Johnson & Wales, hitting a .625 clip, and making one solo block.
Parker is leading the team in kills this season, with 172 total, while averaging 3.58 per game. He is ranked 32nd in all of the NCAA Division III men's volleyball in kills per game. He also is averaging 1.48 digs and .5 blocks per set.
