Wenham, MA- The Lasers 2025 campaign is off to a hot start after going 2-0 on opening weekend. Lasell hit the road for a non-conference tri-match on Saturday, taking on Gordon College and Husson University—and didn't drop a single set, sweeping both matches 3-0.
Lasell vs Husson
The first set opened up with two points from Husson, followed quickly by a 5 point run for the Lasers. Lasell continued to dominate the set, while Senior Sydney Katz quarterbacked the attack with consistent sets and added multiple kills and a service ace. Andrea Aceituno was a spark throughout, contributing from both the service line and front row, while Trinity Silva and Morgan Bogli helped power the Lasers at the net.
The Lasers offense dominated the second set, winning by the largest margin of the match. Husson continued to rally against the Lasers but struggled to find the offensive rhythm needed to pull out a win. The third set continued much like the first two, with Lasell finishing the match with a 25-15 win.
Katz lead the offense with 21 assists on the match, while adding 6 digs defensively. Bogli finished with 7 kills, followed by Silva with 6.
Lasell vs Gordon
The Lasers continued their strong start to the 2025 season with a dominant sweep over Gordon College. The Lasers claimed the match in straight sets — 25-20, 25-17, 25-11 — to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Lasell's attack steadily gained momentum throughout the match, peaking in the third set with a .345 hitting percentage. A balanced offense and stifling defense kept Gordon (0-1) off rhythm, holding the Fighting Scots to a -0.085 team hitting percentage.
Leading the way for Lasell was Aceituno, who tallied 8 kills, 2 aces, and 11 digs for a match-high 10.5 points. Bogli added 6 kills and 3 block assists, while Victoria Pariseault also chipped in 6 kills on just 10 swings (.500 hitting). Katz directed the offense with 28 assists and contributed 11 digs and a block assist.
Up Next: Lasell returns to action on Tuesday, September 3rd, when they host Wheaton College for their home opener. First serve is set for 6:00 PM at the Athletic Center.
