Chicopee, MA- Lasell used a dominant first half to power past Elms, earning a 17-4 GNAC road victory on Saturday afternoon at Leary Field. With the win, the Lasers improve to 10-2 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
Lasell came out firing, scoring four of the game's first five goals to take early control. Mara Boldy led the charge in the opening quarter with a pair of goals, while Emma Dressel and Ruby Cahill also found the back of the net to give the Lasers a 4-1 advantage after one.
The Lasers broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring Elms 7-1 to take an 11-2 lead into halftime. Emily Watson tallied two goals in the frame, while Dressel added a pair of man-up goals. Boldy capped the half with her third and fourth goals of the game as Lasell's offense continued to roll.
Watson finished with a team-high four goals and two assists, while Boldy led all scorers with five goals. Dressel added a strong all-around performance with three goals and two assists, and Cahill contributed three goals and an assist to round out a balanced offensive effort.
Lasell controlled possession throughout, holding a 16-7 advantage in draw controls behind a dominant 10-draw performance from Cahill. The Lasers also outshot Elms 44-15 and forced 23 turnovers, while converting efficiently on their opportunities, including multiple man-up goals.
Up Next: Lasell will be back on Grellier this Tuesday with a conference matchup against Mitchell College.
