Newton, MA- Lasell men's volleyball saw its 2026 campaign come to a heartbreaking end on Saturday morning, falling to Wentworth in five sets in the GNAC Championship at the Athletic Center.
The top-seeded Lasers came out strong, taking the opening set 25-18 behind efficient offense and early momentum, hitting .333 as a team. After Wentworth responded in the second, Lasell answered again in the third with a 25-20 win to move one set away from the title, fueled by another .333 hitting performance.
Wentworth battled back to take the fourth set and carried that momentum into the decisive fifth, where the Leopards hit an efficient .471 to pull away for a 15-7 win and secure the GNAC crown.
Jasper Schultz led the Lasers offensively with a match-high 22 kills, while Teddy Teraszkiewicz added nine kills and two service aces. Paten Buckwalter and Remy Cahalan each chipped in eight kills, and freshman Branch Barnes contributed a well-rounded performance with five kills and 27 assists.
As a team, Lasell totaled 55 kills and 60 digs, staying competitive throughout a tightly contested match that featured 13 total service aces and strong defensive play on both sides.
Defensively, Ryan Mesnik anchored the back row with a match-high 19 digs, while Trystan Maloney added 10 digs to go along with 21 assists.
Remy Cahalan and Ryan Mesnik were both named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team following the match.
