MSOC: Lasell unable to break deadlock in draw to Regis

Newton, Mass. – The Lasell University men's soccer team played to a draw with the Pride of Regis College, 1-1, Saturday at Taylor Field

The result marks the first tie for both sides with Lasell moving to 2-9-1 and 1-6-1 in the GNAC, while the Pride go to 5-4-1 and 3-3-1 in the GNAC.

Lasers found the back of the net first in the 21st minute following a pass into the middle of by senior Jake Ouellette (East Granby, Conn.) that was finished off by sophomore Jaydon Perez (Amherst, Mass).

Regis got the equalizer in the 66th when the goalie was unable to control the ball and freshman Federico Lavini-Ayalla (Weston, Fla.) took the ball away and scored in on the empty net.

 Senior goalie Zack Laware (Wilbraham, Mass.) made nine saves on the day to keep the score level.

Regis had both the edge in shots, 19-9, and in corner kicks, 6-3.

The Lasers will be back in action on Monday, October 11, when they travel to Keene State for a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
