MLAX: Lasers Finish Second in GNAC Pre-Season Poll
Newton, MA- The Lasell University men's lacrosse team has been selected second in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll as the Lasers prepare for another highly competitive season. Coming off a strong 2025 campaign that culminated in an appearance in the GNAC Championship Game, Lasell enters the new year hungry to make another deep postseason run and take aim at the conference title.
The Lasers return a talented and experienced core, beginning with face-off specialist Matthew Carbone. A dominant presence at the X, Carbone has recorded 686 career face-off wins to go along with 429 ground balls and 29 points, providing Lasell with consistent possession and momentum.
Joining Carbone is a strong junior trio of Jason Martin, Dom Dionisio, and Sam Guilmette. Guilmette played a key role in last season's success, totaling 14 goals and 16 assists. Martin has been a force across the midfield over the past two seasons, racking up 28 goals and 64 assists while adding 34 ground balls. Dionisio anchors the defensive unit and has been a steady presence on the back line, collecting 67 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers over the last two years.
Rounding out the group of returners is sophomore Jack Condon, who made an immediate impact in his rookie season. Condon was named GNAC Rookie of the Year after breaking Lasell program records for goals and points in a single season, finishing with 66 goals and 88 points.
With a championship-tested roster and a strong mix of experience and emerging talent, Lasell looks poised to make its mark once again as it chases a GNAC title this spring.
