Field Hockey: Lasers earn fifth slot in the GNAC Preseason poll
Over the last four years, the Lasell University field hockey team has gone 24-9 in the GNAC.

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Lasell University field hockey team, which advanced to three consecutive conference championship games from 2017-19, earned the fifth spot out of 12 teams in the GNAC Preseason poll Thursday.
Johnson & Wales, the defending conference champion, was selected to finish first with 138 points and six first-place votes. Saint Joseph's College of Maine (127 points, 3 first-place votes), Colby-Sawyer (124 points, 2 first-place votes) and Simmons (104 points) placed second, third and fourth, respectively.
Lasell finished in fifth place with 87 points, clearing sixth-place Elms by eight points. The Blazers were the only team outside the top three to earn a first-place vote.
Over the last four years, the Lasers have gone 24-9 in the GNAC, including a perfect 7-0 record during the 2017 season. Lasell opens its 2022 season with a 4 p.m. game at Salem State on Sept. 1. The squad's home and GNAC opener is set for Sept. 8 with a 4 p.m. game against Elms on Grellier Field.
