Women's XC Takes 10th at Emmanuel Saints Invite

BOSTON, Mass. (10/17/15) – The Lasell College women's cross country team placed 10^th overall at the 10^th Annual Emmanuel College Saints Invitational at Franklin Park on Friday afternoon. The Lasers used a team time of 1:57:07.00 to collect a total of 287 points. Over 400 runners represented 24 colleges and universities, with 22 women's teams competing in the 5k. For the first time in the event's history, the host Saints took team honors, placing three runners in the top six and scoring 57 total points.

Freshman Selena Colon (Hartsdale, N.Y.) led the Lasers with an 11^th place finishing, running the course in 21:01. Senior Jaime Russo (Watertown, Mass.) crossed the line next for the Lasers as she ran to a season-best of 21:55 for a 36^th place finish.

Freshman Stephanie Seedorph was the third Laser to finish the course, using an improved 22:32 race time to place 54^th overall. Freshman Shannon Hart (Mashpee, Mass.) ran to a personal record in the event, as she clocked in at 26:41.

The Lasers will return to competition on Saturday, October 31 as they head to Standish, Maine for the GNAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Saint Joseph's (Maine) at 1:00 p.m.
