Women's Cross Country Races at Univ. of Southern Maine

Portland, Maine (9/21/13) - The Lasell College women's cross country team finished 16th overall in the highly competitive University of Southern Maine Invitational. The 5,000 meter course will host the 2013 NCAA Regional meet and posed a formidable challenge for the Lasers.

Jamie Russo was the top finisher for Lasell, covering the 3.1 mile course in 21:32, while Rachel Knuth finished second for Lasell in 21:37 followed by Jessica Smith in 22:08. Solange Carpenter placed fourth for Lasell with a time of 22:57 and Alaine Eldredge was the fifth Laser to finish in a time of 27:16. Jessica Clark and Jen Lemoine were sixth and seventh for Lasell, in times of 31:00 and 32:04.

The Lasell women's cross country team will head to the University of St. Joseph's (Conn.) on October 5th for their next meet.
