Women's Cross Country Hits High Note in ECAC Championship Meet
The Lasell College women's cross country team put together their best performance of the season on Saturday November 3rd at the ECAC Championship meet in Williamstown, Mass.
Williamstown, Mass. (11/3/12) - The Lasell College women's cross country team put together their best performance of the season on Saturday November 3rd at the ECAC Championship meet in Williamstown, Mass. The women's team finished 33rd overall in the field, and saw several runners produce dramatic improvements over their previous appearances.
Solange Carpenter led the way for Lasell, finishing 150th overall in a time of 26:54, besting her time of 28:35 from the 2011 ECAC meet by nearly two minutes. Freshmen Jamie Russo cut almost four minutes off her time from her September time of 32:25, finishing 201st in a time of 28:39. Jess Smith returned after battling injury for most of the 2012 campaign with a strong performance, finishing 214th in a time of 29:05.
Rachel Knuth finished 225th in a time of 29:34, followed by Christina Annicelli at 31:10, Alaina Eldredge in 34:06, and Emily Kochanek in 41:01.
Middlebury, Tufts, Williams, Amherst and St. Jospeh's College of (LI) were the top five teams overall.
The women's team will conclude their 2012 campaign at the NCAA Regional meet on Saturday November 10th.
