Lasell's Cross Country Season Concludes at NCAA New England Regional
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA- On Saturday, November 13th, the Lasell College women’s cross country season came to a close at the NCAA New England Regional Championship hosted by Williams College. Fifty-one women’s teams came together to race over rolling hills, wooded trails, and grass fields on the 6k course at Mt. Greylock High School. Lasell’s Meghan Missett (Lowell, MA) notched a time of 26:55.4 at the meet to lead the Laser women at the Championship.

Fifty-one women's teams came together to race over rolling hills, wooded trails, and grass fields on the 6k course at Mt. Greylock High School. Lasell's junior captain Meghan Missett (Lowell, MA) notched a time of 26:55.4 at the meet to lead the Laser women at the Championship.
Middlebury College won the Championship title with 58 points, placing four runners in the top 15. Middlebury was a fierce contender at Nationals last year with a fourth-place finish. Williams College (91 points) and Amherst College (103 points) rounded out the top three teams, all hailing from the NESCAC. The top two teams from each region move on to compete at the National Championship hosted in Iowa next weekend and up to three additional teams from across the country will earn at-large bids. The top seven individuals whose team did not qualify for the National Championship will also continue on to Iowa to compete.
As a group, Lasell landed in 46th amongst the team results on the challenging course with seven Lasers competing amongst the 336 total runners. Missett was followed by fellow junior Amanda Driscoll (Roslindale, MA) clocking a time of 28:36.8. Freshman Solange Carpenter (Gorham, ME) ended the race next in 29:03.2. Christina Annicelli (North Easton, MA) and Alexandra Smith (North Easton, MA) crossed the finish line just 26 seconds apart at 29:54.0 and 30:21.0 respectively, and freshmen Nora Ulias (Holyoke, MA) and Alaina Eldridge (Sandford, ME) ran times of 34:01.9 and 39:07.3.
The NCAA Regional Championship will conclude the Lasell cross country teams season for the 2010 campaign.
