Women's Cross Country Record Fastest Times of the Season at Roger Williams Invitational
Bristol, RI- The Lasell College womens cross country team had a strong performance at the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday at Colt State Park against some impressive regional competition. Wellesley College took first place honors at the invitational, while University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth earned second place. The top four runners to finish the 5K course all hailed from Wellesley.

Wellesley College took first place honors at the invitational, while University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth earned second place. The top four runners to finish the 5K course all hailed from Wellesley.
Every Laser athlete ran their fastest time of the season at the race, including a standout showing by freshman Solange Carpenter (Gorham, ME) who dropped nearly two minutes (1:58) off her previous season-best.
Carpenter finished third for the Lasers, and 53rd overall, finishing the course in 23 minutes and 37 seconds. In her previous race with Lasell, Carpenter clocked a time of 25:35 at Cold Spring Park.
Meghan Missett (Lowell, MA) was the top Lasell performer of the day, finishing in the top 30 at the race (27th) and ending the race with a final time of 21:40. Missett knocked over a minute (1:05) off her previous race time.
Amanda Driscoll (Roslindale, MA) also took a significant amount off her previous race time. The junior concluded the course at Roger Williams in 22:55, an improvement of 1 minute and 21 seconds.

Annicelli (North Easton, MA) and Alaina
Eldredge (Sanford, ME) each enhanced their season-best
at the meet as well. Annicelli finished the course in 24:31 while
Eldridge ended at 29:10. Alexandra
Smith (North Easton, MA) competed for the first time
with the Lasers at Saturday's event and recorded a time of
28:57.
As a team, the Lasers recorded an average time of 24:20.
Lasell has two weeks off before their next event on September 25th at the Elms Blazer Invitational.
