Middlebury, MIT Tie for Regional Cross Country Title
Cumberland, ME -- Lasell College had six womens cross country athletes finish the difficult 6,000 meter NCAA New England Regional Womens Cross Country Championship course held at Twin Brook Recreation Center in Cumberland, Maine on Saturday. Middlebury College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology tied for the team title under rainy skies, finishing with 63 team points each.

Middlebury College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology tied for the team title under rainy skies, finishing with 63 team points each.
Lasell was paced by sophomore Meghan Missett (Lowell, MA) who finished the course in 27 minutes, 17.9 seconds. Freshman Christina Annicelli (North Easton, MA) covered the 3.75 mile course in 28:11.8, good for second on the team, and senior Ariella Harrington (Woburn, MA) turned in a time of 28:35.0 as the third Laser to cross the finish line.
Meagan McCole (W. Bridgewater, MA), Amanda Driscoll (Roslindale, MA), and Stephanie Hauck (Westwood, MA) rounded out the Lasers completers. McCole was fourth for Lasell, ending the race with an individual time of 29:35.8. Driscoll came through the finish line just seconds later at 29:43.8 and Hauck finalized the course in 30 minutes, 16.2 seconds.
Middlebury and MIT each earned the region's two automatic qualifying spots for next weekend's NCAA Division III National Championships to be hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College and the Cleveland Sports Commission.
