Lasers Earn 3rd Place Finish at Monks Invitational
Standish, METhe Lasell College womens cross country team placed third overall as a team at the Runnin Monks Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, October 10th. The Lasers third place finish positioned them just behind University on Maine, Farmington in first, and GNAC opponents Johnson & Wales in second.

Meghan Missett (Lowell, Mass.) once again was the lead finisher for Lasell in a pack of 69 runners. Missett finished the 5K course in 22 minutes, 47 seconds, good for 11th place in the meet. Though she was the 11th overall finisher, Missett was the fifth GNAC runner to close the course and was just 44 seconds behind the top GNAC finisher, which was Lindsay Panny of Johnson & Wales.
Completing the race just eleven seconds after Missett was senior, captain Ariella Harrington (Woburn, Mass.). Harrington concluded the meet in the top 15 overall runners with a 14th place finish.
Rounding out the top 25 runners was freshman Christina Annicelli (North Easton, Mass.). Annicelli earned the 25th spot with a completion time of 23:52.
Junior Megan McCole (West Bridgewater, Mass.) and senior Stephanie Hauck (Westwood, Mass.) were the fourth and fifth Lasers to cross the finish. McCole earned 41st place with a time of 25:33, while Hauck secured 42nd place just one second later. Amanda Driscoll (Roslindale, Mass.) also aided the Lasers to their 3rd place finish, completing the race with a time of 25:59.
On Friday, October 16th, the Lasers will compete at Franklin Park in the Saints Invitational.
