Harrington Leads Womens Cross Country to 5th Place Finish at GNAC Championships
Nashua, NHThe Lasell College womens cross country team finished in fifth place at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Rivier College on Saturday, October 31st. Emerson College won the race with an average time of 21:54.25, earning 48 points in the 5K. Emersons Caprice Cappucci (Medfield, Mass.) was the first place finisher of the 88 total athletes.

Emerson College won the race with an average time of 21:54.25, earning 48 points in the 5K. Emerson's Caprice Cappucci (Medfield, Mass.) was the first place finisher of the 88 total athletes.
Lasell's senior captain Ariella Harrington (Woburn, Mass.) was the top finisher of the day for the Lasers, ending the race in 12th place overall. Harrington was just two spots away from earning GNAC All-Conference honors, which are awarded to the top 10 finishers at the Championship race each year. Her completing time of 22:18.38 was a season personal best for the senior.
Meghan Missett (Lowell, Mass.) also ranked in the top 20 for Lasell, with a 19th place finish. Missett ran the 3.2 mile race in a time of 22:45.66.
Following closely behind were freshman Christina Annicelli (North Easton, Mass.) and sophomore Amanda Driscoll (Roslindale, Mass.). Annicelli ended the race in 27th place with a time of 23:42.73 and Driscoll was just seven places behind her with a time of 24:38.37.
The tandem of Stephanie Hauck (Westwood, Mass.) and Meagan McCole (W. Bridgewater, Mass.) were the next two Lasell competitors to cross the finish line. Hauck earned 37th place with an overall time of 24:55.16 while McCole placed 38th four seconds later.
Also completing the tough 5K for Lasell were sophomores Cheree Iadevaia (Warwick, RI) and Stephanie Greenblatt (Houston, TX). Iadevaia ran the race in 30:04.12 and Greenblatt finished in 30:33.63.
The Lasers finished the meet with 127 total points and an average race time of 23:40.06.
Lasell will compete next in the ECAC Championships in Williamsburg, Massachusetts on Saturday, November 7th.
