Newton, MA- Lasell University's women's volleyball team fought hard but fell to visiting Babson College in a thrilling non-conference match on Friday night at the Lasell Athletic Center. The final score was 3-0 in favor of Babson, with set scores of 38-36, 25-22, and 25-23. The opening set was historic, becoming the longest set in Lasell volleyball history at 38-36, featuring 20 ties and 10 lead changes as both teams battled intensely.
Senior Morgan Bogli led the Lasers with 11 kills on a .308 hitting percentage, contributing four blocks and four aces. Sophomore Trinity Silva and junior Shantte Siliezar each added nine kills, while senior Victoria Pariseault hit a remarkable .636 with seven kills. Setter Sydney Katz distributed 22 assists, running the offense effectively, and senior Maddie Caro anchored the defense with 10 digs.
Lasell totaled 40 kills and hit .301 for the match, showing strong offensive efforts despite Babson's aggressive attack, which produced 55 kills and a .290 hitting percentage. Defensively, the Lasers recorded 42 digs and 14 blocks but were unable to close out critical points, especially in the marathon first set that swung momentum in Babson's favor.
