Netwon, Mass. - The Lasell College women's volleyball team put together a strong three set performance, earning their second Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory against Anna Maria College. The Lasers won a tight opening set, 26-24, before closing down the match with 25-8 and 25-11 victories. The win improves Lasell to 2-14 overall and 2-1 in the GNAC, while Anna Maria fell to 1-11 on the season and 0-2 in the league.
Sara Biondo (Covbentry, R.I.) tallied six kills, with Alexis Chappell (Springfield, Mass.) adding five kills and Alyssa Nahigian (Coventry , R.I.) four kills. Nahigian also helped orchestrate the Laser attack collecting 19 assists and finishing with three aces.
Sandy Acosta (Lawrence, Mass.) and Jacqueline Clinton (Walpole, Mass.) had five and four kills respectively for Anna Maria, who also got as team-high 12 assists from Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.).
The AMCats will be back on the court Thursday September 27th when they host Newbury College in non-conference action. Lasell will be off until Saturday September 29th when they visit Suffolk University for a GNAC tri-match with St. Joseph's College of Maine.
