PAXTON, MA- Lasell College easily swept a 3-0 match against Anna Maria in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball action on Wednesday night. The Lasers improve to 14-17 this season with a 6-5 GNAC slate while the AMCATS have yet to earn a win in the conference (0-12) and drop to 3-21 on the year. Lasell won by scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-16.
The Lasers produced an outstanding .295 attack percentage as a team, going 42-14-95 on the night in kills, errors, and total attempts. Sara Biondo (Coventry, RI) led all hitters on the outside with 11 kills while Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) tacked on 10 kills.
Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) came away with 27 assists and 10 digs for the only double-play performance of the night. Crozier led the team in total digs while Biondo closely followed with nine.
Also contributing to Lasell's league victory were Anna Feeter (Peterborough, NH) and Alexis Chappell (Springfield, MA) with five kills each. Marisa Visocchi (Whitman, MA) and Jenna Lynn Geary (Marion, MA) collected four digs apiece.
The Lasers have two final regular season contests in GNAC play scheduled for a trimatch on Saturday, October 29th against Pine Manor and Suffolk. Pine Manor will host the event beginning at 11:00 a.m.
