Boston, MA— The Lasell College women's volleyball team prevailed 3-0 over Great Northeast Athletic Conference foes Suffolk University on Tuesday night, defeating the Rams 25-22, 25-18, 25-21. The Lasers boost their overall slate to 9-14, while evening out to 4-4 in the conference with four more GNAC squads to contend with this season.
The Lasers had top showings from middle hitter Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME), freshman libero Sarah Eisenberg (Westfield, MA), and junior setter Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY). Drapeau was prevalent on offense with 12 kills on 24 total attacks with just three errors, to boast a .375 hitting percentage in the match. Drapeau also led with four blocks and three service aces.
Eisenberg was the principal defender, notching double-figures in the digs column with 15. Crozier created the offense with 29 assists in the match, adding two aces and four digs.
Also having a prime performance on the evening was GNAC Rookie of the Week Taylor Riley (Greencastle, PA). Riley put down 10 kills and added eight digs against the Rams.
The Lasers will face Emerson College on Saturday, October 16th during the Lasell College Family, Friends, and Alumni Weekend. The contest will also mark senior day for the two women's volleyball seniors, Melanie Costa (Ludlow, MA) and Megan Gobeille (Lincoln, RI). First serve will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the Lasell College Athletic Center.
