UMass Dartmouth Downs Lasers

North Dartmouth, MA-- The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth took down the Lasell College women's volleyball team on Tuesday night in three sets, 25-22, 25-8 and 25-23. Lasell falls just below even after the loss with a 6-7 overall record, while the Corsairs are 13-1 this season.


Junior middle's Eileen Barrett (Ludlow, MA) and Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) combined for 11 kills and seven blocks at Tripp Athletic Center.  Drapeau attributed for six of those kills and three blocks, while Barrett notched five kills and four blocks.


The Lasers' defense pursued 56 attacked balls altogether with Sarah Eisenberg (Westfield, MA) leading all performers with 11 digs.  Jenna Lynn Geary (Marion, MA), Megan Gobeille (Lincoln, RI), and Maris Visocchi (Whitman, MA) each chipped in with eight digs.


Junior setter Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) contributed 13 assists and seven digs, and freshman Taylor Riley (Greencastle, PA) tallied three kills and six digs.


The Lasers will visit Emmanuel College on Thursday night, September 30th, at 7:00 p.m. for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference tilt with the Saints.
