Lasers Fall to Owls
Westfield State swept Lasell College, 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-16) in women’s volleyball, Thursday, Sept. 18. Lasell dropped to 2-7, while the Owls evened their record at 3-3.

Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) led Lasell with
11 assists and 10 digs. Nicole Wetterman (Dighton,
MA) had a team-high six kills and Amanda Major
(Southbury, CT) registered 10 digs.
Jenna-Lynn Geary (Marion, MA) and Melanie Costa (Ludlow, MA) also played well in the tough match against the Owls. Geary had 3 kills, 8 digs, and one block, while Costa chipped in 2 kills and seven digs for the evening.
Junior Stephanie Bartkus posted 13 kills and 14 digs for the Owls. Freshman Alex Wahl had 26 assists and eight kills and junior Katie Kurty (Ludlow) recorded 21 digs. Freshman Kerin DeGirolamo totaled 19 assists and two service aces.
The Lasers begin competition in the GNAC on Saturday, September 20th in the Athletic Center gymnasium. Lasell will take on the Blue Jays of St. Joseph's College (CT), at noon.
