T&F: Lasers Shine Across Multiple Meets
Boston, MA- Lasell Track & Field put together a strong weekend of competition across multiple meets, highlighted by top-10 finishes, personal bests, relay success, and a historic school record performance.
At the RCC Open, the Lasers earned several top-10 finishes on the track and in the field. Kayoni Jordan placed seventh in the women's 60m, while Lauren Ayotte finished seventh in the women's 800m and Jenna Sargent added a seventh-place showing in the women's shot put. Nate Gonzalez recorded a ninth-place finish in the men's long jump, and Colin Roderick and Gabrielle Warner each cracked the top 10 in the 400m.
The meet also saw multiple personal bests, including strong performances from Dante Mills in both the 60m and 800m, Dylan Cullen in the 200m, Jordan Woodley in the 400m, and Damali Waugh in the 60m. Arianna Morse and Lauren Ayotte continued their momentum with personal bests in the 200m and shot put, respectively.
The Mary Grinaker Invitational brought standout relay performances and podium finishes. The men's 4x400 relay team of Cameren Candelaria, Dylan Cullen, Darius Vincent, and Colin Roderick captured first place. Roderick also earned second in the men's 60 hurdles and Dante Mills finished second in the men's 200m. Both the men's and women's 4x200 relay teams placed third, along with a third-place showing from the women's 4x2 squad. Additional top-10 finishes came across sprints, jumps, throws, and vaults, showcasing the team's depth across events.
Personal bests continued to fall at Mary Grinaker, with Dylan Cullen recording PRs in both the 60m and 400m, Reya Salmon setting a new best in the 60m, Casey Davis in the 400m, and Lauren Ayotte once again improving in the shot put.
The weekend was capped by a historic performance at the Harvard Invitational, where Ella Meeker shattered the school record in the 5,000 meters, running 19:40.54 to claim the top all-time mark in program history—breaking the previous record by nearly two minutes.
