T&F: Lasers Compete in Reggie Poyau Invitational
Waltham, MA- The Lasers headed down the road to Brandeis University to compete in the Reggie Poyau Invitational.
In the 60m, Susy Daniels ran a personal best of 9.97, showcasing her speed and consistency. The 60H saw standout performances from Colin Roderick, who clocked a time of 9.80 to rank #4 all-time, and Colleen Bartel, who ran 11.24, placing her #7 all-time. These results solidified both athletes as major contenders in the hurdles.
The 300m was a strong event for the team, with Kayoni Jordan posting a time of 50.77, which ranks her #2 all-time, just behind the top mark. Colleen Bartel and Hanna Babek also delivered solid performances, running 51.88 and 54.17, placing them at #3 and #5 all-time, respectively. Damali Waugh completed the strong showing in the event with a time of 56.27, which ranked her #6 all-time. Amill Houston ran an impressive 1:14.51 in the 500m, securing the #6 all-time spot. In the 1000m, Liv Pennington's 3:55.47 earned her the #8 all-time ranking, closely followed by Victoria El-Azem, who finished at 3:55.64, taking the #9 spot. Molly Cohen rounded out the middle-distance performances with a new PB of 7:00.78 in the Mile.
In the relays, the men's team—Colin Roderick, Luigi G., Jordan W., and Amill Houston—ran a season-best 3:54.42 in the 4x400m, while the women's team—Mikayla B., Victoria E., Molly C., and Liv P.—posted a time of 5:29.49, placing them #8 all-time.
In the field events, Gianni Colebut and Nate Gonzalez both cleared 1.80m in the High Jump, finishing tied for 5th place. Ryan Ventura made a strong showing in the Long Jump, setting a new personal best with a mark of 5.14m. Colleen Bartel continued her stellar form with a #3 all-time performance in the Triple Jump, jumping 9.33m. In the Shot Put, Alex McFarlane threw 10.79m, earning a place at #7 all-time, while Lillian Sullivan set a new PB with a throw of 8.56m. The Weight Throw was another highlight, with Susy Daniels reaching 8.89m, which ranks her #4 all-time. Jenna Sargent posted a season-best throw of 8.62m, and Lillian Sullivan also made her mark with a throw of 8.21m, placing her at #8 all-time.
