Women's Track and Field Opens 2014 at Greater Boston Track Club Meet

BOSTON, Mass. (1/19/14) – The Lasell College women's track and field team kicked off their 2014 slate by competing at the Greater Boston Track Club Meet at Harvard University on Sunday January 19^th .

In the 60M dash, Ayumi Ranucci led the way for Lasell, finishing 19^th in a time of 8.79, followed by Briana Wrubleski in 8.94, Kendall Logsdon in 8.98, Melissa Cooley in 9.28, Talia Gabriel in 9.30 and Jen Lemoine in 11.20.

Melissa Cooley was followed by Ranucci in the 200M, posting 15^th and 18^th place finishes respectively while posting times of 29.37 and 29.74 seconds respectively.  Talia Gabriel finished 24^th in 30.82, followed by Tatyana George in 32^nd at 33.28, Kelly Pigot in 36^th at 34.50 and Jen Lemoine in 37^th with a time of 39.13.

Pigot placed fourth overall in the 300M, covering the distance in 56.59 seconds. Rachel Knuth ran the 1 Mile and 3,000 meter double for the Lasers, finishing the mile in 6:32.21 to place 20^th and running the 3000M in 12:44.96 to take 12^th in the race. Kendall Logsdon narrowly edged out teammate Briana Wrubleski in the 60M hurdles, as the duo took 9^th and 10^th respectively in 10.68 and 10.69 seconds. Logsdon placed 7^th in the long jump with a distance of 4.53 meters, and Chelsea Zeig placed 5^th with a throw of 10.67 meters in the shot put.

The Lasers will return to the track on Saturday January 25^th.
