Newton, MA - In a rematch of the previous two GNAC Championships, the JWU Wildcats got th ebetter of the Lasell Lasers with a 5-0 win. The loss drops the Lasers to 1-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference play, while the Wildcats are now 1-0-2 and 1-0.
The Wildcats struck early, taking a 1-0 lead in the second minute. They would then add three more in the first half to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. A Lasell own goal in the 77th minute would wrap up the scoring.
Of the Lasers' five shots, Grace Rava had two. In net the Lasers had Lataya Simmons, a freshman from Cape Coral, FL. She made her first career start and made 13 saves on 18 shots.
Up next - The Lasers will look to bounce back when they travel to Saint Joseph's Maine for a 1:30pm start time on Saturday.
