Standish, Maine – Freshman Priscilla Martinelli (Plymouth, Mass.) scored the game winner in overtime for the Lasell University women's soccer team, downing the Saint Joseph's College Monks, 1-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game Saturday at SJC Athletic Complex.
The win moves the Lasers to 6-2 overall and 6-0 in the GNAC, while the Monks fall to 6-6 overall and 5-2 in the GNAC.
Martinelli scored the only goal of the game in the 106th minute which she scored unassisted.
Sophmore goalkeeper Kyli Swann (Queen Creek, Ariz.) secured a shutout making six saves to grab her fourth win of the season.
The Lasers had the edge in shots, 21-9, and in corners, 6-3 in the win.
The Lasers will be back in action on Wednesday, October 6, for a GNAC clash at home against Albertus Magnus. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
