Cullen Selected to Play in NEWISA Senior Bowl
Lasell forward Megan Cullen (Amesbury, Mass.) has been selected to play in the 2016 New England Women’s Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl on Saturday, December 3 at Merrimack College.
NEWTON, Mass. (11/22/16) – Lasell forward Megan Cullen (Amesbury, Mass.) has been selected to play in the 2016 New England Women's Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl on Saturday, December 3 at Merrimack College. This year's game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at Martone-Mejail field.
Cullen started in all 22 contests played for Lasell during the Lasers' winningest season, and carried a team-leading 21 goals and five assists for 47 overall points. Her 21 goals were tied for a league-best, while she also led the GNAC in points and total shots on goal. Cullen currently sits second all-time in career goals scored with 67.
An All-Conference First Teamer, Cullen has earned post-season honors in three of four years played at Lasell, highlighted by her Offensive Player of the Year bid in 2015.
The women's soccer team used a program finest 18-wins to earn its seventh straight NCAA Tournament bid following a 2-1 victory against Albertus Magnus in the GNAC Championship. Lasell fell to No. 13 nationally ranked Amherst in the first round of the tournament, a team that secured its ninth appearance in the Sweet Sixteen.
