Henniker, NH- The Lasers secured a pivotal conference road win on Wednesday afternoon, taking down the Pilgrims of New England College, 16-11.
Lasell set the tone early, jumping out to a 4-0 lead behind two quick strikes from Watson and a goal from Dressel. After New England College battled back to tie it late in the first, the Lasers responded with a strong second quarter, scoring five goals to take a 9-5 lead into halftime.
The momentum carried into the third, where Lasell continued to control the pace. Goals from Ruby Cahill, Dressel, and Mara Boldy helped stretch the lead to 13-6, giving the Lasers a comfortable cushion heading into the final frame.
New England College made a push in the fourth behind a six-goal performance from Riley Davis, but Lasell answered each run. Dressel sparked the offense with a key goal midway through the quarter, while Watson and Lily Hunt added late tallies to secure the 16-11 win.
Watson delivered a dominant all-around performance, finishing with five goals and four assists to lead the Lasers, while Dressel added four goals and an assist. Cahill contributed a strong all-around effort with two goals and three assists, while Hunt chipped in two goals and an assist. Boldy added a hat trick, continuing the Lasers' offensive depth.
Defensively, Joy Sayah made seven saves to earn the win in net, while also collecting five ground balls. Lasell capitalized on key possessions, forcing 23 turnovers and finishing with a 17-11 edge in ground balls.
