WBB: Lasers Roll Past Dean
Newton, MA- The Lasers continued their GNAC run defating Dean College 86-60 on Saturday afternoon.
Lasell set the tone early, using aggressive defense and strong rebounding to jump out to a strong lead. Abigail Duclos knocked down multiple three-pointers, while Hailey Johnson and Daeserae Williamson capitalized on offensive rebounds for easy buckets. Lasell stayed locked in defensively, closing the first quarter up 23-18
The Lasers continued to extend the lead in the second quarter behind balanced scoring and dominant work on the glass. Shirle Major and Erica Lendall controlled the paint with second-chance opportunities. The Lasers defensive pressure forced turnovers and limited scoring chances, allowing them to grab a firm hold on the game heading into halftime 44-27.
Lasell came out of the locker room with energy, using strong ball movement and defensive pressure to extend their lead. Major jump-started the offense with a mix of perimeter shooting and drives, while Blaize Mack controlled the paint with put-backs and second-chance points. Williamson added a tip-in layup and defensive rebounds as Lasell consistently won the battle on the glass. Despite Dean finding a few scoring opportunities, Lasell's steady scoring and rebounding advantage pushed the margin to 67–44 heading into the fourth.
The Lasers stayed in control throughout the final quarter, continuing to attack inside and capitalize on turnovers. Williamson and Mack combined for timely baskets, while Laura Johnson provided energy on both ends with rebounds, assists, and late scoring. Lasell also knocked down key free throws down the stretch to seal the win. Dean battled to the end, but Lasell's depth and balanced offense proved too much, closing out an 86–60 victory.
