Newton, MA- Lasell University women's basketball team dominated the glass and chipped away to defeat Worcester State 68–50.
The Lasers controlled the interior from the jump, powered by a monster outing from Laura Johnson, who piled up 13 points and 17 rebounds while shooting 5–10 from the floor. Her effort keyed a 45–39 rebounding advantage that steadily wore the Lancers down.
Lasell got balanced scoring across the lineup. Blaize Mack was steady with 12 points, while Shirle Major added 9 points and 4 assists. Daeserae Williamson chipped in 5 points and 4 boards, and Hailey Johnson provided a strong lift off the bench with 10 points. In total, ten different Lasers scored as the team shot 40.6% and posted 17 assists, showing crisp ball movement throughout the night.
Worcester State hung tough early but struggled to convert offensively, finishing 19–62 from the field. Lasell's defensive pressure set the tone, forcing 13 steals and converting miscues into transition points. A strong second-half surge, driven by L. Johnson's rebounding dominance and timely threes from Abigail Duclos and Alexis Bulson-Cuozzo, put the game out of reach.
