SB: Season Ends with Loss to Monks
New Haven, CT- The Lasell University softball team saw its season come to a close on Saturday afternoon, falling to Saint Joseph's (Maine) 12-0 in five innings in an elimination game at the GNAC Tournament.
The Monks jumped ahead early with three runs in the first inning, using an RBI single from Sadie Tirrell and a two-run double from Chantelle Bouchard to take an early lead. Saint Joseph's added five more runs in the second to break things open. Addison French drove in a run with a single before Tirrell delivered a two-run double, and Kryslin Stearns added an RBI groundout to make it 8-0.
The hosts tacked on four additional runs in the third inning, highlighted by another RBI single from French and a two-run single from Tirrell, who finished a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI in the win.
Lasell was limited to three hits offensively, with Ashlyn McCampbell leading the way with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate. Abigail Fortin added the team's other hit and stole a base, while Alyssa Bland also recorded a stolen base. Shyanne Raccio made the start in the circle, allowing two earned runs over two innings before Fortin worked the final two frames in relief.
The loss brings Lasell's 2026 season to a close in the GNAC Tournament.
