Boston, MA – The Lasell University softball team wrapped up its regular season on the road, dropping a pair of hard-fought contests to Emmanuel College.
Game 1:
Lasell came up just short in a closely contested Game 1, falling 5–4 despite a competitive effort on both sides of the ball.
The Lasers recorded seven hits and showed patience at the plate with five walks but couldn't overcome a late deficit. Alyssa Bland sparked the offense with a hit, a run scored, and a stolen base, while Madalen Brown delivered an RBI and crossed the plate once.
Riley Michael and Emma Tarleton each drove in a run, with Michael also reaching base twice and scoring. Emily Stilwell added an RBI of her own, and Adreanna Ventullo contributed with a hit and a run scored after being hit by a pitch.
In the circle, Abigail Fortin went the distance, striking out six over six innings. She allowed five runs on six hits while working through traffic, issuing five walks
Game 2:
Lasell's offense came alive in Game 2, but it wasn't enough as the Lasers dropped a high-scoring battle, 11–9.
Lasell totaled 10 hits and drew five walks, putting constant pressure on the Saints pitching staff. Fortin led the charge with a strong all-around performance, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, and a stolen base. Bland delivered a key offensive contribution, driving in two runs while scoring twice and reaching base multiple times. Sophie Arena added a big swing with two RBIs, while Ventullo, Ashlyn McCampbell, Tarleton, and Stilwell each contributed an RBI.
Shyanne Raccio went the distance, allowing 11 runs on nine hits while striking out four. Despite the offensive output, the Lasers were unable to keep pace defensively. Errors and free passes proved costly, as Lasell committed three errors and issued 11 walks in the circle.
