SB: Lasers Fall 5-4 Against Keene State
Keene, NH- Despite outhitting mistakes and putting runners on, the Lasers couldn't quite capitalize as they fell 5–4 against Keene State.
Game 1-
At the plate, Alyssa Bland led the way with a strong 3-for-4 performance, while Abigail Fortin reached base twice and drove in a run. Madalen Brown added an RBI, and Adreanna Ventullo came through with a big two-RBI hit to account for half the team's scoring.
The lineup showed patience with four walks, but left six runners on base, limiting chances to break the game open. A caught stealing and a couple of empty at-bats with runners in scoring position also stalled momentum.
In the circle, Shyanne Raccio went the distance, throwing 6.1 innings while allowing five runs on eight hits. She battled through 131 pitches and worked around multiple baserunners, but defensive miscues behind her proved costly. Three errors led to extra opportunities for the opponent, ultimately making the difference in a one-run game.
Game two was unfortunately called due to weather.
Up Next- The Lasers will host their final home matchup of the regular season, facing Mitchell College on Saturday April 18 as they celebrate their seniors.
