Chicopee, MA- The Lasers traveled to Elms College on Sunday and went 1-1 against the Blazers.

Game 1-

Game 1 was a high-energy, back-and-forth battle, but Lasell came up just short in a 9-7 loss. At the plate, the Lasers delivered an impressive offensive performance, racking up 12 hits and consistently putting pressure on the defense. Abigail Fortin set the tone at the top, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Madalen Brown sparked the offense as well, finishing 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an aggressive presence on the bases, swiping three bags. Adreanna Ventullo added two hits, while Riley Michael came through in key moments with a 2-for-3 day, including a double and 2 RBIs.

Emma Tarleton provided one of the biggest swings of the game, driving in two runs with a triple, and Ashlyn McCampbell contributed with a hit, a walk, and a run scored. Lasell used its speed effectively, tallying multiple stolen bases to stay aggressive and create scoring opportunities.

Despite the strong offensive showing, the game turned on pitching and defensive challenges. Shyanne Raccio battled through six innings, allowing nine runs while striking out eight. Control proved to be an issue at times, with seven walks and three wild pitches helping extend innings for the Mariners.

 

Game 2-

Game 2 was a complete turnaround, as Lasell rode a dominant pitching performance to a 2-0 shutout win.

Fortin led the way in every aspect, delivering a standout all-around performance. At the plate, she went 3-for-4 with a double and drove in a run, while in the circle she was dominant, tossing a complete game three-hit shutout. Fortin worked efficiently through seven innings, allowing just one walk while striking out four to keep the opposition off balance all game long.

Offensively, Lasell did just enough to support the effort. They finished with eight hits, with contributions coming throughout the lineup. Alyssa Bland, Ventullo, McCampbell, and Sophie Arena each added hits, while Stilwell came around to score one of the two runs.
