Clermont, FL- The Lasell University softball team finished out their Florida trip with a 7-6 win against Buena Vista and a 13-5 loss to Western New England, finishing 2-6 for the trip overall.
Vs.Buena Vista -
Lasell earned a 7–6 win behind a strong all-around performance at the plate and in the circle from Abigail Fortin. Fortin pitched a complete game, going seven innings while allowing six runs, only one of them earned, and striking out seven. Offensively, the Lasers recorded 13 hits. Riley Michael led the way with a 3-for-4 performance, scoring twice and driving in a run. Adreanna Ventullo also had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base, while Madalen Brown finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Shyanne Raccio added two hits and two RBIs, and Alyssa Bland contributed two hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Fortin chipped in offensively as well with a triple and a run scored. The Lasers stayed aggressive on the bases with steals from Brown, Ventullo, and two from Raccio to help generate offense and secure the one-run victory.
Vs. Western New England-
The Lasers recorded nine hits but fell 13–5 despite a balanced offensive effort. Riley Michael and Madalen Brown each led the way with two hits, while Adreanna Ventullo, Emma Tarleton, Alyssa Bland, and Ashlyn McCampbell each drove in a run. Shyanne Raccio added a double at the plate and also scored once, while Tarleton, Bland, Brown, and Abigail Fortin each recorded stolen bases. In the circle, Raccio pitched 5.2 innings, striking out six while allowing 12 hits and seven earned runs. Defensive miscues proved costly for Lasell, as the team committed multiple errors that contributed to WNE scoring.
