SB: Lasers Selected Third in GNAC Pre-Season Poll

Newton, MA- The Lasell softball team has been selected third in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office ahead of the 2026 season.

After a competitive 2024–25 campaign, Lasell returns a strong group of experienced players who will look to build on last year's foundation.

Senior catcher Alyssa Bland highlights the returning lineup after starting all 34 games a year ago. Bland hit .315 with 34 hits and 11 walks, finishing with a .383 on-base percentage. A steady presence behind the plate, she plays a key role in managing the pitching staff while providing consistent production offensively.

Junior Shyanne Raccio is back following an All-GNAC Third Team season. Raccio batted .313 with 19 RBI and eight extra-base hits, including two home runs, while posting a .455 slugging percentage. In addition to her offensive impact, she logged valuable innings in the circle, giving the Lasers versatility and reliability in multiple roles.

Senior Abigail Fortin returns as another experienced two-way option. Appearing in 30 games last season, Fortin adds depth both in the circle and defensively, bringing familiarity and flexibility to the roster.

Lasell will also lean on sophomore Adrianna Ventullo, who provides experience and balance throughout the lineup. Ventullo's defensive consistency and ability to contribute in key situations add to the Lasers' returning core as they prepare for conference play.

With a mix of returning leadership and developing talent, Lasell enters the 2026 season focused on continuing to grow and compete within the conference.
