LeBlanc and Antoshak Garner All-GNAC Third Team Honors in Softball
NEWTON, Mass. (4/28/14) – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball coaches recognized a pair of Lasell College softball players for their contributions to the Lasers program during the 2014 season. Santina Antoshak and Nicole LeBlanc were each named to the All-GNAC Third team for their roles in the Lasers season that saw them increase their win total by 40% from a year ago.
Sophomore Nicole LeBlanc (Easton, Mass.) was named the catcher on the All-GNAC Third team for the second straight season. LeBlanc batted .457 on the year, finishing fourth in the conference in batting average. She finished with a .508 on base percentage and a .600 slugging percentage, the fourth and twelfth highest marks in the league respectively. LeBlanc finished with 19 runs scored and a team-high 21 runs batted in while finishing with a team-best 12 extra base hits including 10 doubles.
Senior Santina Antoshak (Closter, N.J.) joined LeBlanc on the All-GNAC Third team as an outfielder. The Lasers centerfielder and lead-off hitter, Antoshak finished second on the team with 29 hits and led Lasell with 21 runs scored and seven stolen bases. Antoshak was also perfect in the field, handling all 63 chances she saw without an error while recording three assists as she posted a 1.000 fielding percentage. She was also named as the Lasers representative to the GNAC Sportsmanship team.
