The hosts pull ahead 2-0 in the first inning again this game, at which point Lasell held off further damage for four complete innings before the Monks added three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The Lasers struggles at the plate were finally ceased by Kirsten Mammola (North Reading, MA) in the fourth inning when she doubled to center field with two outs. Ashley Laramie (Lynn, MA) bunted to reach base in the fifth inning and Santina Antoshak (Closter, NJ) added a base hit in the sixth inning for Lasell, but all three Laser runners were all left on base.
Laser starting pitcher Alison Saluti (Braintree, MA) retired six Monk batters on strikes in six innings on the pitch. Saluti falls to 4-7 this season after yielding five runs on 11 hits.
Lasell (9-27, 9-13 GNAC) looks to halt a four game skid on Tuesday, April 26th at 3:00 p.m. in their final regular season doubleheader against rivals Mount Ida College.
