Cambridge, MA- The Lasell University men's volleyball team finished out their regular-season campaign with two stron 3-0 wins against Wheaton and MIT.
Vs. Wheaton-
Lasell turned in a dominant and balanced performance, finishing with an impressive .368 team hitting percentage while controlling the match from start to finish. Leading the way was Branch Barnes, who did it all with 11 kills on a .474 hitting percentage, 21 assists, and 2 service aces. His ability to both score and facilitate kept the offense flowing all match long.
Noah Thetford added 10 kills while hitting .412, giving Lasell another consistent offensive option, and Nathaniel Cobuzzi was extremely efficient with 7 kills and no errors, posting a standout .778 hitting percentage. Additional support came from Cody Bonilla, who contributed 8 kills and 8 digs, while Cole Esterline added 4 kills and helped at the net with 2 block assists.
Matthew Mitko and Eric Chan anchored the defense with 10 digs each, helping Lasell maintain strong ball control throughout. Trystan Maloney also played a key role in running the offense, recording 13 assists to complement Barnes' team-high total
Vs. MIT-
Lasell put together another strong showing, hitting .310 as a team while getting production from multiple key contributors. Jasper Schultz led the offense with 15 kills, while Remy Cahalan was highly efficient, recording 11 kills on a .625 hitting percentage and adding 3 service aces. Cobuzzi continued his strong play with 4 kills on an outstanding .800 clip, and Paten Buckwalter chipped in 3 kills while hitting .750.
Running the offense, Barnes dished out 22 assists while adding 4 kills and 8 digs, controlling the tempo throughout the match. Maloney added 11 assists to help keep the attack balanced. Defensively, Ryan Mesnik anchored the back row with 11 digs, while Barnes added 8. At the net, Buckwalter made an impact with 4 total blocks, helping Lasell finish with 9 as a team.
