MVB: Lasell Handles Dean in Three Sets
Franklin, MA- Lasell took home a dominant 3-0 win over the Bulldogs of Dean College, climbing to 3-0 in conference play.
Lasell controlled the opening set from the start, hitting an efficient .435 as a team while holding Dean to just eight kills. The Lasers found early rhythm behind the offense of Remy Cahalan and Cole Esterline, creating separation midway through the frame before closing out the set 25–17.
Dean pushed back in the second set and kept things close throughout much of the frame, but Lasell maintained the edge with balanced offensive production. Cahalan continued to lead the attack while Matthew Mitko and Paten Buckwaltercontributed key kills down the stretch to help the Lasers secure the 25–21 win and take a 2–0 match lead. The Lasers carried that momentum into the third set, using a steady offensive effort and consistent defensive play to keep control. Lasell tallied 13 kills in the frame, pulling away late to complete the sweep with a 25–20 final.
Cahalan led the Lasers with a match-high 14 kills, hitting .500 while also adding three service aces. Mitko followed with seven kills and seven digs, while Esterline added six kills on a .556 hitting percentage. Setting the offense was Trystan Maloney, who dished out 21 assists, while Lasell totaled 39 kills and seven service acesas a team in the win.
Up Next: Lasell will be back on their home court this Thursday with a non-conference matchup against Elmira.
