Newton, MA- The Lasell men's volleyball team turned in a strong all-around performance Saturday afternoon, sweeping Manhattanville in straight sets (25-11, 25-21, 25-18) at the Athletic Center to improve to 9-3 on the season.
Lasell jumped out early, hitting .588 in the opening set while holding the Valiants to just 11 points. The Lasers stayed in control throughout the match, finishing with a .241 team hitting percentage and recording 18 total blocks as a team.
Cole Esterline anchored the net with a match-high seven kills and five total blocks, while Cody Bonilla added six kills and two service aces. Paten Buckwalter was highly efficient offensively, tallying seven kills on nine attempts for a .667 attack percentage.
Trystan Maloney paced the offense with 27 assists, helping distribute a balanced attack that saw multiple hitters contribute. Defensively, the Lasers limited Manhattanville to a .045 hitting percentage and totaled 19 digs on the afternoon.
Up Next: The Lasers will be back in action this coming Tuesday with a non-conference matchup against Nichols.
