T&F: Lasers Compete in Suffolk Relays
Boston, MA - Lasell University Track & Field turned in one of the strongest collective performances in program history at the Suffolk Relays, producing six school records, a meet victory, 14 top-10 finishes, 20 new all-time list marks, and a wave of personal bests across both teams.
The day was highlighted by Nate Gonzalez, who captured Lasell's lone win of the meet by taking the men's high jump at 1.85m, equaling his personal best and reinforcing his position as the No. 2 performer in program history. The throwers contributed a major breakthrough as Alex McFarlane demolished the men's weight throw school record with a toss of 11.60m—an improvement of more than two meters over his previous best—and added another No. 2 all-time mark in the shot put at 11.34m.
On the track, Caleb Ruch delivered a massive debut in the men's 5000m, placing sixth in 16:05.99 and shattering the school record by nearly 42 seconds. Roderick also joined Aiden Mitchell, Gonzalez, and Ruch on the men's Sprint Medley Relay that set a new school record of 3:51.59 for sixth place. The women's SMR matched the momentum, as Damali Waugh, Julianna Huckans, Gabriella Warner, and Ella Meekercombined for a school-record 4:46.63 and a fifth-place finish.
