Matthew Gilmore was named the head coach of the Lasell University men's soccer program in June 2026.
Gilmore brings more than a decade of coaching experience at the collegiate, club, and high school levels. Most recently, he served as Boys Director for Select Soccer Club, where he oversaw boys' programming across multiple regions, directed coach education, implemented the club's player development model, and managed all aspects of the futsal program.
Prior to Select Soccer Club, Gilmore spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Curry College. During his tenure, the Colonels posted three consecutive winning seasons from 2021-23—the first such stretch in program history—while earning two Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament appearances. He also helped develop six All-Conference selections and two All-Region honorees.
Gilmore also served as Director of Coaching for Real Boston Football Club, where he led player development, coach education, and club curriculum. His coaching experience includes additional roles with Valeo Futbol Club, Hamden High School, and Cheshire Soccer Club.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Gilmore played at NCAA Division I Sacred Heart University before completing his career at NCAA Division II Southern Connecticut State University. He brings a coaching philosophy centered on player development, accountability, and building a strong team culture.
