Chicopee, MA – In a wild offensive showcase, the Lasell University men's soccer team clawed back from multiple deficits to earn a 5-5 draw against Elms College on Saturday afternoon.
Lasell trailed 3-1 at halftime and 4-1 early in the second half, but an explosive rally saw the Lasers score three goals in a three-minute span to tie the game at 4-4 by the 68th minute. After Elms regained the lead in the 77th minute, Daniel Faynstein buried his second goal of the game in the 88th to secure the tie.
Faynstein led Lasell with two goals on four shots on target, while Antonio Calabrese also netted twice. Dante Mills added a goal and assist, and Owen O'Brien contributed two assists in the comeback effort.
Goalkeeper Reed Brown made five saves in relief for Lasell, while Jack Bousquet stopped six for Elms.
Up Next: Lasell will be back on their home turf this Wednesday, with a non-conference matchup against Nichols College at 3:00pm.
