Framingham, MA- The Lasell University men's soccer team opened their 2025 campaign on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 3–0 to Framingham State in a tough non-conference matchup.
Despite generating several scoring chances and earning eight corner kicks, the Lasers were unable to find the back of the net. Daniel Faynstein led the offensive push with three shots on goal, while Dante Mills added two shots of his own, one on target. Girish Raghunathan and Antonio Calabrese also registered shots in a more active second half.
Lasell trailed 1–0 at the half after Framingham State's John Holt scored in the 11th minute. The Rams extended their lead in the second half with goals from Landon Medeiros (67') and Graham Tinkham (76'), despite a solid effort from Lasell's backline.
Goalkeepers Avry Whitson and Reed Brown split time in net. Whitson made one save in just under 24 minutes of play, while Brown recorded two saves in over 66 minutes. Both were under pressure as Framingham State totaled 11 shots, 6 of them on goal.
Lasell showed promise in possession and buildup, especially through the midfield, but couldn't convert on any of their 7 total shots. The team will look to regroup ahead of their next match as they aim to bounce back and build momentum early in the season.
Up Next: The Lasers will hit the road again this coming Wednesday for another non-conference matchup, this time against Gordon College.
