NEWTON, Mass. – A senior captain on the Lasell College men's soccer team has been honored for his successful accomplishments in the classroom as well as on the field.
Senior Connor Wall (East Hampton, Conn./East Hampton) has been voted to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). Wall was named to the Academic All-District Team for District I in NCAA Division III Men's Soccer, and is now eligible for selection to the Division III Academic All-America team, which will be announced next month.
A two-year co-captain and four-year starter, Wall is a six-time Dean's List student at Lasell as an Environmental Studies major and a National Honor Society member. He completed an internship with the Econautics Sustainability Institute and was a Fall Symposium Speaker on Corporate Social Responsibility. Wall is a two-time selection to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. On the soccer field, he started 11 of his 12 games on defense for the Lasers and finished second on the team in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points. He was the team's Rookie of the Year in 2015 and the team's Most Valuable Player in 2017.
To be eligible for the Google Cloud Academic All-America program, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). He/she must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution. Academic All-District First Team selections advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.
