Lasell Mens Soccer Nabs Two GNAC Weekly Awards
Newton, MA-- Two Lasell College mens soccer players were bestowed Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly honors following a 3-0 victory over reigning GNAC champions and preseason favorites St. Josephs College of Maine on Saturday.

Dan Hatch, a senior forward from Avon, Massachusetts was selected as GNAC Player of the Week and Matthew Bruninghaus, a junior goal keeper from Plymouth, Massachusetts was dubbed GNAC Goal Keeper of the Week.
Hatch scored back-to-back goals in a four minute stretch to cushion Lasell's lead and secure the 3-0 victory over the Monks. Hatch struck first in the 61st minute, picking up his own rebound off the post and drilling a close-range shot for a 2-0 Lasell advantage. Less than three minutes Later, Hatch zeroed in on a leading pass from freshman Marcus Lopez (Barrigada, Guam) to produce the final tally of the contest. Hatch is tied for third in the GNAC in total points this season, with nine, having scored four goals and added one assist in six games. He is also ranked third in goals and tied for second in game-winning goals, which he has two.
Bruninghaus played a complete game in net for the Lasers in the GNAC rivalry matchup, turning away seven shots-on-goal for the shutout. This is Bruninghaus' second shutout of the season, and fourth career shutout over three seasons. The junior goal keeper has a 2-2 record in the 2010 campaign and has made 31 saves with a .80 GAA and a .886 save percentage. Bruninghaus is leading the league in GAA, save percentage, and shutouts this season. He is currently ranked sixth in total saves and fifth in saves-per-game (6.20).
