MLAX: Lasers Dominate Mariners 24-2
New London, CT – The Lasell men's lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance against Mitchell College, securing a dominant 24-2 victory on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. With the win, Lasell improves to 8-4 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
The Lasers dominated on both ends of the field, with standout performances across the board. Jack Conway, finished with 5 points, scoring 2 goals and adding 3 assists. His all-around play was instrumental in keeping the Mitchell defense on its heels throughout the game.
Blake Cavallon had an exceptional performance, scoring 4 goals and contributing 1 assist, totaling 6 points. Austin Wenzel also made a major impact, recording 3 goals and 2 assists. His offensive contributions, along with his playmaking skills, helped to push Lasell's lead even further as the game progressed.
Jack Condon contributed with 2 goals and 1 assist, adding to the team's offensive firepower. Condon was active throughout the game, helping Lasell build its substantial lead early on with quick transitions and precise finishing.
Defensively, Matthew Carbone led the charge, collecting 5 ground balls and going 7-10 in faceoff opportunities, providing Lasell with possession and key opportunities throughout the game. Sam Guilmette also contributed on the defensive end with 1 goal and 2 assists, while collecting 2 turnovers to help thwart Mitchell's offensive attempts.
In goal, Michael Catalano played the first 15 minutes of the game, earning a win after stopping all shots he faced. Freshman goalkeeper Cameron Soave stepped in for the remaining 45 minutes, recording 5 saves and allowing only 2 goals.
