Standish, ME- The Lasers fought a tough battle against Saint Joseph's Maine on Tuesday evening but ultimately fell 72-67.
Lasell had a strong first-half performance through balanced contributions across the lineup. The Lasers shot an efficient 50 percent from the field in the opening half as Esmer Madesko led the way early with aggressive play on both ends. Andy Madesko, Che Hanks and Jonathan Box helped keep the offense flowing.
In the second half, Lasell struggled to maintain that efficiency, shooting 33.3 percent from the floor and just 2-for-16 from beyond the arc.The Lasers cut into the deficit late and received a key jumper from Andy Madesko with 1:36 remaining, but the comeback fell short. Lasell finished with just one lead in the game and ultimately could not overcome the cold shooting stretch after halftime, falling 72–67. Esmer Madesko finished with a team-high 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Andy Madesko added 14 points and 4 assists, Hanks chipped in 12 points and Box added 7.
